MAD and Our Policies

Metro Atlanta Dance (or MAD), was founded in 2024 by Dr. Janet Bentley Ewers and many dedicated individuals. Located in Roswell, GA, MAD is a 501c3 directed by Kia J. Street. We are committed to making dance inclusive, accessible, and affordable for anyone regardless of gender, race, religion, or financial status. Classes are offered for as young as 2 years old through adult with a variety of styles taught by exceptional instructors. We are proud to provide excellent dance classes and opportunities for all!


Non-Discrimination Policy

METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED admits students of any race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin in administration of its education policies, company admission policies, tuition waiver programs or any other programs.

MAD Code of Conduct

As a dancer and/or guardian of a dancer at METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED, I agree to abide by the following code of conduct.

As a dancer:

● I will attend every class, participate to the best of my ability, and put forth 100% effort, energy, and enthusiasm.

● I will do my best to be punctual to attend warm-up at the start of every class.

● I will demonstrate respect for all instructors, assistants, staff members, and fellow students.

● I will focus and pay attention to the dance teacher's instructions and therefore limit the amount of talking during class time.

● I will be friendly, warm, and welcoming to the other dancers at the studio and in my classes.

● I will refrain from physical, mental, emotional or cyber bullying other dancers, staff, or instructors. This includes social media postings referencing directly or indirectly to a student, staff, studio brand, and/or affiliations to the studio.

● If I am observing a class while it is in progress, whether out of interest or due to sickness or injury, I will be quiet and courteous to the dancers, dance teachers, and assistants.

● I will adhere to the dress code and have my hair secured off my face prior to class.

● I will treat the studios, the premises, and the possessions of all other dancers with respect, care, and consideration.

● I will clean up after myself and any mess that I create while at the studio.

● I will not eat, or wear my outside shoes in the dance studio rooms.

● I will neatly store my belongings, including any cell phones, in a cubby and will respect the belongings of others.

● I will wait inside the building for my ride after class ends.

As a guardian:

● I will do my best to have my dancer(s) arrive on time and be on time to pick them up.

● I will label my dancer(s) shoes and clothes to prevent lost items.

● I will remember that children participate in dance for their own enjoyment.

● I will model respect for other guardians, dancers, and teachers.

● I will encourage and guide my dancer(s) to accept responsibility for their own performance and behavior.

Disciplinary Policy

On the occasion that repeated failure to comply with the Code of Conduct occurs, METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED reserves the right, at its discretion, to dismiss or take disciplinary action on any students or parent/guardian/family member who breach METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED’s code of conduct. Breaking the code of conduct will be met with a progressive disciplinary policy. Depending on the severity of the infraction, METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED’s staff may:

1. Verbally inform a dancer that they have broken the code of conduct and need to correct their course of action

2. Instruct a student to leave a class for a period of time or the remainder of class

3. Verbally inform a guardian that an infraction has occurred

4. Email a guardian that an infraction has occurred

5. Remove a dancer from a recital or performance piece

6. Remove a dancer from a class for the remainder of the semester or year

7. Revoke the registration of a dancer from METRO ATLANTA DANCE LIMITED

Any infraction requiring item #4 or higher will be documented in Metro Atlanta Dance Limited’s Disciplinary Log.
